  11. Voyager NG 2.70 is a full featured WWW Browser.
  12.  
  13. Note that this is the so-called "USA" version of the V-NG archive.  Due to
  14. US patent laws, it comes without internal SSL support and internal GIF
  15. decoding.  Non-US citizens can get the international version from
  16. http://www.vapor.com/.  US-citizens can use the MiamiSSL library provided
  17. with Miami 2.1 to get SSL support. Miami is available from
  18. http://www.nordicglobal.com/.

  20. Major changes to Voyager since Version 1.0:

  22. · Supports Frames as introduced by Netscape 2.x.
  23.  
  24. · Supports Secure Socket Layer SSL encrypted
  25.   http transfers ("https:" scheme). Uses full
  26.   strength 128 bit encryption. Can use the MiamiSSL
  27.   library provided with Miami 2.1 to support SSL
  28.   even for US citizens.

  30. · Uses internal image decoding routines for JPEG, GIF (non-USA
  31.   version only) and PNG. Visually incremental on-the-fly image decoding, 
  32.   leaving the program operational during decode. No more hassle with
  33.   datatypes related bugs. Optimized memory usage. The routines are
  34.   optimized for speed and are very fast. Full support of
  35.   CyberGFX and Picasso 96 HiColor/TrueColor screens.

  37. · Supports HTML tables. Many more HTML commands 
  38.   and Netscapism's are understood (including FONT SIZE and
  39.   HR WIDTH). Improved general compatibility with broken
  40.   and nonstandard HTML code.

  42. · Supports versatile plugin interface for vanilla
  43.   extensions

  45. · Shipped with a web search engine plugin
  46.  
  47. · Supports T/TCP "TCP for Transactions" requests,
  48.   allowing for much faster establishment of HTTP links
  49.   to servers. This is currently supported by
  50.   Miami 2.x only. Specified in RFC 1644. As far as 
  51.   we know, Voyager is the first browser on any 
  52.   platform supporting this!

  54. · Totally reworked preference setting. The transfer anim is 
  55.   now configurable, too.

  57. · Supports Shift & Click downloading of files even from
  58.   servers with broken configuration which state
  59.   that binary data is of type "text/plain" (which
  60.   happens frequently with .lha and .lzx files,
  61.   because these suffixes are missing in many
  62.   http server example mime.types files)

  64. · Popup menus for links offering link specific options.

  66. · Added internal SMTP send capability. Also
  67.   supports mailto: forms now. Improved news
  68.   handling.
